They might seem useless but they help.
I have made plenty of cold calls in my life. I honestly do not like making them, but they are extremely useful. Cold calls let you find out who has positions open that way with gas prices the way they are your not wasting gas by being told no every place you go. It never hurts to leave your name, and let them know your coming down if you find a place that's hiring the more your name is heard helps building a relationship with a businesss.
