One of my favorite interviewers was a Ranger that we spoke with at the Gila Cliff Dwellings. The team anbd I eneded up talking with him for a good thirty minutes about how he got to be a volunteer for the national park. He told us a lot of personal information that I feel very honored to know. He said he never fit in with kids at his school because he was always interested in arts and culinary studies in school; he was never fond of sports or working out in high school, which set him apart. His parents supported him his entire life and told him to never be affted by what others had to say and to follow his heart. So right out of high school he went to culinary school and again dropped out because he just did not know what he wanted to do with his life. Eventually he discovered his love of nature and started to volunteer at local parks. recently, he went back to school to gain an education in archeology and created his own curriculum for high school students to gain a better understanding for rock formation, genetics, etc. It's a good feeling to know that it's never too late to go back to school or to change to another career.
