My Manifesto

My Manifesto

I think that my manifesto is based around confidence and perseverance. As I went through the road trip nation lessons I learned that appreciating yourself is one of the first things that is given when I learn to shed the noise. When I shed the noise the more I realize that I am not owned by someone, I am my own person and can do anything I want with my life. So if I want to do something in the future so that is what I will be. Hard work is also important because all that hard work done to shed the noise, to love myself, and to get what I need to pursue my career is what will create my life.

Leader Interview

Michelle Hardy

Professor in Child Development

In one super long sentence to summarize how and what my leader, that I chose from looking thoroughly in my interests, that I chose in the beginning of the course, that were some of my hobbies does is that she teaches students who attend the school at which she also works in and teaches them how a child is developed and what changes would occur when children grow up to be adults and does it with much passion because she had earned her dream job which was development and to have that opportunity to teach others what she enjoys in she does with much effort.

What type of route did this leader take?

  • It was straightforward

    "It was straightforward."

  • It was windy

"It took a while to figure out."

  • It was circuitous

    "I tried everything."

Leader's Work Life

An average day in my leaders work is to get to the campus early so that she can set up what is needed to set up. Sometimes when she is feeling happy she will try to make the lessons more interesting. In other words she would put a little more thought into the work since she likes to have her students not be bored all the time. After she is done planning her students attend her class and she gives the lectures needed for the students to pass the course she is currently teaching. After she is done she gets to her car and goes home to rest.

Leader's Noise

While the leader that I chose spoke about what she wanted to do and what she needed to achieve that goal and what exactly she did to achieve that dream she had come across through some noise while trying to pursue that goal. One of the things that had recently occurred in her road that made it so bumpy to her along the way was that the noise of others and their thoughts on her goal in career. She would hear others say that it wasn't the job for her and she should do something else but she avoided all of that.

Advice from my Leader

While having a conversation with my leader and getting to know them I got the chance to ask what advice they had for other people or even people like me in my own age and some of the advice that she had given was that to always take every opportunity you get and complete that task. If anything is offered she is advising others to take that chance because that is one of the ways she got to where she is now and how much she achieved from her own motto that really sticks with her even today while she works.

My Cold-Calls

My Cold-Calls

While I was making my cold calls I realized something new as well as learned something from it. To start, I was not able to make a cold call because I could not find their contact information for a phone but only email which is the method I used to cold call my professor of interest. I think the most nervous part of not calling them and actually sending them an email is how well the email would be written. I didn't mind typing away but I the hard part was finding the right words to use and the appropriate and way to correctly write the email.

Before and After

…

Before my leader interview I thought that it was very difficult to achieve ones dream and was not possible without the support of loved ones or even friend because how else would you be able to push yourself to achieve your dream. But now that I had interviewed my leader, someone who did achieve that dream with much effort is that it is possible. No matter what situation you are in it is possible to pursue that dream you have been meaning to achieve so long. The only way you will achieve it is by pushing yourself and asking how much do I want this.
